Encaustic Leaves

I made this piece after visiting a park with my friends. It was fall 2015 and leaves were on the ground. I wanted to experiment with encasing the leaves with encaustic.

 This is a detail picture showing that I used an old rusted pop can found just hiding under the leaves. My friends didn't understand why I was collecting garbage along the way. I loved the way the pop can was disintegrating and at first glance was hardly recognizable.
